Action Required: GarbageDay App Transition to Email Service
Over the last six years, GarbageDay has become a staple app for many Canadian households, providing timely reminders about local waste and recycling schedules. We’d like to inform you that as of 24 October, 2024 GarbageDay will continue to operate as an email-based reminder service and we will be discontinuing the app.
What this means for you
To ensure you don’t miss out on the GarbageDay reminders after the app is shut down, we need you to take action and opt-in for email notifications.
WHAT YOU NEED TO DO:
Simply visit the link below to manage your notification settings and enable email updates: Manage Notifications in the App (If you are not able to access this link, please email us at care@garbageday.com.)
FAQs about the transition:
-
When is the app shutting down?
The app will be decommissioned within the next two weeks. You will no longer receive notifications via the app once it’s shut down. -
Will my service be interrupted?
No, your service will continue through email notifications, as long as you opt in. -
What happens if I don’t opt in?
If you do not switch to email notifications, you will miss important reminders about your garbage collection schedule.
How to Ensure Email Notifications Are Recieved:
- Add our email (care@garbageday.com) to your address book to prevent notifications from going to spam.
- Check your spam or junk folder and mark our emails as “Not Spam” if you don’t see them in your inbox.
Please note that our Terms & Conditions & Conditions have also been updated to reflect this change. You may view them here.
